Osamu Sekine graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Tokyo in 1967 and with an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in 1974. He was admitted to practice law in Japan in 1969 and worked at Lovejoy, Wasson, Lundgren & Ashton in New York as a visiting attorney from 1974 to 1975.
