Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu ("NO&T") will comply with the Law Concerning Protection of Personal Information ("Personal Information Protection Law") and other related laws and ordinances when handling personal information at NO&T and make efforts to treat such personal information properly. To this end, NO&T has established the following privacy policy:

1.　Acquisition of Personal Information

NO&T shall lawfully and properly acquire personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use of such personal information.

NO&T shall use personal information within the extent necessary to achieve the following purposes that relate to the provision of NO&T's legal services, recruitment of lawyers and office staff, etc. as well as the management and control of work and employment of lawyers and office staff, etc.

<Provision of NO&T's legal services>

• (1) Handling legal matters and sending and receiving communications relating to such legal matters.
• (2) Providing information concerning NO&T, its lectures and seminars, etc., sending letters of greeting, etc. and offering other information related to NO&T's legal services.
• (3) Responding to various inquires.
• (4) Performing other business of NO&T in a proper and efficient manner.

<Recruiting lawyers and office staff>

• (1) Personal information acquired for recruiting lawyers:
  • Accepting a candidate's visit to NO&T, sending and receiving communications, conducting the selection process and determining whether to offer a position to a candidate.
  • Conducting personnel management and providing education and training after recruitment of a candidate.
• (2) Personal information acquired for recruiting office staff
  • Sending and receiving communications concerning recruitment of office staff, conducting the selection process and determining whether to offer a position to a candidate.
  • Conducting personnel management and providing education and training after recruitment of a candidate.

<Performance and work management of lawyers and office staff>

• (1) Preparing a personnel directory necessary for business, sending and receiving business communications, and conducting welfare proceedings, social insurance proceedings and other various proceedings required by laws or ordinances.
• (2) Determining the amount of and making payments of salary and other various allowances and conducting tax withholding procedures.
• (3) Performing employee evaluations, determining increases or decreases of salary, personnel changes and the division or group that lawyers and office staff are attached to within the office.
• (4) Providing education and training, health management and implementing other various rules of NO&T.
• (5) Conducting other proper personnel and labor management in NO&T

3.　Use of Personal Information for Purposes Other Than Those Stated Above

NO&T shall use personal information only for the purpose stated above and shall not use personal information for any other purposes without the consent of the relevant person except as otherwise provided for by laws or ordinances or unless such purpose of use is separately notified or announced.

4.　Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

NO&T shall not provide personal information to any third party without the consent of the relevant person except as otherwise provided for by laws or ordinances.

5.　Implementation of Measures for Safe Management of Personal Information

NO&T shall take necessary and proper measures and shall manage such personal information properly in order to prevent leakage, loss or waste of any personal information which NO&T handles. NO&T shall also properly supervise its employees in their handling of personal information and, if NO&T entrusts the handling of personal information to any third party, monitor the entrusted third party so that the entrusted third party properly manages the personal information.

6.　Requirement of Disclosure, Amendment to and Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If NO&T is requested from a person to disclose, amend, add, delete or suspend the use of or cancel, or stop providing to any third party or give notice concerning the purpose of use of, his/her personal information held by NO&T pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Law, NO&T shall confirm that such person who made such request is the person of the relevant personal information and respond to such request properly in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law.
