Measures regarding New Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in Tokyo Office (Updated October 22)

News

Since February, we have continuously been taking measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As from this day forward, our lawyers and staff will work as follows:

・Work
Lawyers will either work in the Office or telecommute.
The working arrangements for staff will be a combination of working in the Office on reduced working hours and telecommuting.

・Health checks for lawyers and staff
Our lawyers and staff will conduct temperature checks prior to coming to the office, and where their temperature is considerably higher than usual or they have health concerns, they will refrain from coming to the Office.

・Wearing of masks
Lawyers and staff are urged to wear masks and other protective gear while working.

・Cleaning and disinfection
Staff have been directed to clean and disinfect common-use surfaces and items, such as door knobs and light switches, as much as possible.
For ease of mind, our internal meeting rooms and conference and client meeting rooms will be cleaned and disinfected with disinfectant sprays and wipes after each use.

・Meetings
In the past, we have recommended that client meetings be held via tele- or video-conferencing. However, face-to-face meetings may also be held upon request.
When visiting our Office, we ask for your cooperation with temperature checks in the reception area on the 36th floor of the JP Tower. If you have a fever or are not feeling well, we kindly ask that you refrain from attending meetings at our Office.
In face-to-face meetings, we ask for your cooperation in preventing the spread of infection by wearing masks and observing social distancing guidelines while seated. In addition, to further reduce the risk of infection from face-to-face conversations, we have installed acrylic screens in the center of our conference room tables. We apologize for the inconvenience, and ask for your understanding.

・Seminars
We will continue to refrain from holding seminars at the Office, but instead will hold online seminars (webinars).

・Telephone (main): +81-3-6889-7000
In view of the restrictions on our staff in coming to the Office, please leave a voice message, and we will contact you as soon as possible. Also, please email lawyers to the extent possible.

・Email (General contact form)
We can receive emails as usual, but our responses may not be timely.

・Emails, faxes, or calls in relation to our lawyers
Our lawyers can send and receive emails, receive faxes, and make and receive calls as usual. Your calls may be forwarded to personal mobile phones. If there is no response, please leave a voice message, and you will be contacted shortly.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank for your cooperation and understanding.
