In Cambodia, regulations on direct foreign investment are less stringent than those of neighboring countries. In recent years, Cambodia has maintained high economic growth, and its population is young on average. Many companies believe that Cambodia is a promising market because of its abundant young labor force and expected increase in its consumer base, which will likely contribute to future market expansion. Thus, it is anticipated that Japanese companies will continue to increasingly expand their business in Cambodia. Cambodia is also working to modernize its legal system, including engaging in debate on enacting its Competition Law, and is actively introducing new technologies, such as those involving cryptocurrency distribution.
Against this background, we are eager to meet wide-ranging client needs, drawing on our collaborative relationships with prominent local law firms and our extensive experience from past cases. We cover general corporate matters and provide legal assistance to Japanese companies in Cambodia, including business alliances with Cambodian companies.
