Consumer Litigation (Class Actions)

We have a long history of representing companies that are active in a wide range of business fields both in Japan and overseas in a variety of collective litigations and mediation cases, including lawsuits involving adverse effects associated with pharmaceuticals and pollution lawsuits. In recent years, in addition to such traditional collective litigation, we have obtained successful judgments on behalf of our client companies in consumer organization disputes in which qualified consumer organizations were the plaintiffs.

Needless to say, we have negotiated on behalf of companies in a number of cases involving complaints out of court where consumer organizations seek injunctions against corporate advertising, solicitation, application of the terms of contract, or seek damages and compensation for consumers. We also provide advice to companies on such cases.
