NO&T’s PRIDE Month 2024 Initiatives

LGBTQ

As part of our efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion, we undertake various LGBTQ+ initiatives aimed at fostering an organization and society where everyone can live and work comfortably, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

June is Pride Month,* during which numerous activities and events are held worldwide to celebrate sexual diversity and raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights.
We also celebrate June each year as “NO&T PRIDE Month” with a series of awareness activities.

For NO&T PRIDE Month 2024, we are welcoming our guests with a special loading screen featuring a rainbow-themed design before our website’s homepage and a rainbow-colored floral arrangement near our reception desk, symbolizing sexual diversity.

Additionally, our firm-branded water bottles will feature a limited-edition PRIDE themed label and will be available in meeting rooms. Please feel free to pick one up when you visit our office.

As part of our internal initiatives to raise interest and understanding among our staff, we have also established a “PRIDE corner” in our library during PRIDE month. The corner features a collection of LGBTQ+ books and materials, which we gradually add to each year. The background of our intranet now features a rainbow-colored theme, and a “NO&T LGBTQ+ ALLY” chat room has been set up to facilitate information exchange among ALLY** members.

*PRIDE Month is dedicated to raising awareness of LGBTQ+ (sexual minority) rights. On June 28, 1969, the “Stonewall Riots” took place at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City, where patrons rioted against an unlawful police raid. These riots have become a symbol of LGBTQ+ resistance, and June is now celebrated as PRIDE Month each year.

**An ALLY is person who understands, empathizes with, and supports the LGBTQ+ community. We have a site where firm members who understand, empathize, and wish to stand with the LGBTQ+ community can register as ALLIES. Registered ALLIES receive rainbow-colored stickers to identify themselves as ALLIES.
