Yuko Tamai is a Partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. She represents foreign and domestic clients in various types of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and licensing transactions. She has extensive experience in handling large-scale alliance deals, public acquisitions, and carve-out transactions. She also provides strategic advice on shareholder activism and unsolicited acquisition proposals as well as corporate governance, internal control issues, and crisis management. She is a member of the Board of Councilors of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Japan (ACFE Japan) and is also qualified as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Moreover, she has served as a member of numerous study groups or committees of ministries and other governmental agencies in Japan, such as the Study Group for Japanese Companies’ Cross-border M&As at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) (2017-2018), the Fair M&A Study Group at METI (2018-2019), the Subcommittee on Certified Public Accountants System at the Financial System Council (2021-2022), the Fair Acquisition Study Group at METI (2022-2023), and the Working Group on Tender Offer Rule and Large Shareholding Reporting Rule of the Financial System Council (2023).
