Hospitality

Since the 1980s, when the concept of management contracts was non-existent in Japan, we have been providing legal advice on the development, management and franchising of international brand hotels, positioning us as a pioneer in the hospitality field.

Since the turn of the century, hotels have increasingly drawn attention as targets for investment and securitization. Concerning real estate securitization and real estate investment funds that target hotels, we utilize our knowledge and experience in the hospitality field as well as securitization and investment funds to provide advice to various stakeholders, such as operators, developers and investors, in view of all aspects of the projects.

In addition, in the hospitality field, projects featuring new concepts such as timeshare, branded residences, private lodging business (minpaku), IR, MICE, and others are continuously being launched. We review laws, regulations and systems covering real estate, finance, intellectual property, health and welfare, labor, and other related fields, and are involved in various projects in relation to the new concepts, including feasibility studies. A distinctive feature of the hospitality field is that its concepts and structures are required not only to be accessible in Japan, but also globally versatile and compatible with those of other jurisdictions. With offices in New York, Singapore, and other countries and areas, together with our many foreign lawyers, we are well positioned to appropriately address this requirement.
