Keiko Shimizu is a partner at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu. She handles a variety of corporate transactions and general corporate affairs. One of the focuses of her practice is securities and financial services regulations, and she advises asset management companies, securities brokers, banks and other financial institutions on corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters. She advises clients on the formation, marketing and operation of various collective investment vehicles such as investment trusts, hedge funds, private equity or other alternative investment funds, and fund of funds. She also advises clients on data protection matters.
She earned an LL.B. from the University of Tokyo in 1996 and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2003. She was admitted to practice in Japan in 1998 and worked at the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP as a visiting attorney in 2003.
